For episode 150 we thought it would be fun to mark the occasion with a solid round of Q&A, and boy did you all deliver with a great set of questions. Before we get to the questions, don’t forget that Jason’s book signing is tonight (July 1st). So, if you’re in the St. Paul, Minnesota area, head on down to Lake Monster Brewing for a hang out with Jason and hopefully lots of the TGN crew. The event runs from 5 - 8 pm.
As we dig into a fresh set of questions, the TGN boys talk about their favorite sea critters, SUVs old and new, depth gauge options, career do-overs, hiking in New Zealand, and, as you might expect, a whole lot more. Thanks so much to everyone who sent in a question. If you want your question on the show – in your own voice – record your question as a voice memo (try to keep it under 1 minute) and then email to thegreynato@gmail.com. Until then, just press play and be sure to let us know in the comments below if you have anything to add to our responses.

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summers day listening to the murmur of the water or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” - John Lubbock
Hey guys! Great episode!! Such a fun batch of questions. Wanted to chime in on leather care quick.
Shell cordovan: very true that it is as close as it gets to zero maintenance in the leather world. That said, when you want to care for it, and I would suggest doing so once or twice a year based on use, I’d recommend Saphir Cordovan Creme. It’s specially made for cordovan, and does a beautiful job caring for the unique characteristics of cordovan.
Non-cordovan vegetable-tanned leather: I couldn’t recommend a simple product more than I recommend Smith’s Leather balm - so much so that I sell it in my own online shop. It’s all-natural, smells beautiful, and does an amazing job caring for veg tan leather.
Chrome-tanned leather: neatsfoot oil or mink oil works great!
Regardless of how much it seems like leather products do or do not require care, if you do in fact care for them, you’ll be blown away by how long they really can last.
Cheers, and sorry for the long comment!
Alex
Great show as always. Makes me want to go to an island and go diving (and to tonight's book signing). I love it when Jason reminisces about my favorite products. Last time it was my F3/T, this time my old CJ-7 (oh, the things I did in that Jeep). Next up I'll be expecting to hear about our shared joys such as driving an Alfa Romeo (top down on a cold fall day), racing tactics on a velodrome, or why learning another language can change your life.
