Building upon a random idea from a recent episode, this installment of The Grey NATO features Jason and James casting for the yet-announced upcoming James Bond film.
I just want to put my vote in for Wes Chatham as the Henchman. Anyone who has watched The Expanse will know how well he could pull that off. If not a Henchman, he would also be an amazing Double-O alongside Bond. Anyone who wants confirmation of that, google him in the role of Amos, and look up his line in The Expanse where he says "...I am that guy."
I hoped back then that Tom Hardy would get the role. Too late for that now. Fun choice and pure opposite to Tom would be Eddie Redmayne. Also we need a good old Eastern European villain and the Cold War again. Feđa Štukan (Feda Stukan) from Bosnia would be great for the roll. Otherwise Matthew Goode and Matthew Rhys. Watch: happy with Omega / CWC (for the Cold War era). Maybe Bremont or Vertex for the modern Bond.
Moneypenny: Emily Blunt? Going back to a slightly mature version.
Q: younger version, Ansel Elgort or older version, Jude Law
Bond song: Artist should do it is ‘The Last Shadow Puppets’. Their first record definitely sounds like a period piece songcraft and production. Strings, check! Brass, check! Couldn’t be more British too.
Question for James’ choice for Bond watch? Would it be better if it’s the 165.024 because the 166.024 reference has a date.
Great show guys. On the watch front, while I agree that Bond should be in a diver (love the 2254, my first "nice" watch), I have always thought that a GMT (that is dive-able) makes a massive amount of practical sense given Bond's globe trotting lifestyle. Why not an Omega diver GMT (Great White for instance)?
