With the TGN boys assessing their summer travel plans, we figured it would be high time to do an episode dedicated to how we travel with our watches (or don’t – in some cases).
Great episode guys!! Would absolutely love a (long) episode with Watches of Espionage. I used to live and still frequently travel to London and never had any problems with my watches. Just a quick hop on the tube and pretty much every other person is rocking a steel Rolex. Same for LA & Paris. Bad things can happen anyewhere though, so just like James points out, being mindfull of how you may be perceived, wearing a long sleeve and rocking a NATO/rubber strap goes a long way. As is to not walk the streets while stuck on your phone.
I personally think the watch theft issue of over rated.
I just spent 5 weeks traveling across Europe from Istanbul to Paris. Walking neighborhoods drinking at late night bars and just enjoying g life while wearing my SD43.
Good situational awareness of where you are and who is around is a good thing to have no matter wear you are.
In Paris it seems like every other person was wearing a Rolex whiteout a care in the world.

I really enjoyed this episode, and looking forward to hear from Watch Espionage, and Robert Spangle. Though Robert has already covered this briefly during his feature with you guys.
It's unfortunate that the rise in watch theft, has discouraged us to enjoy and build life experiences with our watches. What better way to make it happen than traveling? In my opinion, the best defense is to be cognizant of your surroundings no matter where you are. Often times, the ones who got robbed were aloof, even worse, on their phones! Also, swapping the bracelet with a nato always tones it down a notch.
Fascinating topic. I have traveled all over the world wearing a Rolex, for more than 30 years, with only a few minor incidents. The story about Swiss Customs targeting incoming travelers worries me more than the thought of being robbed, but I will be even more careful now.

Surprised no mention of new Arken release
