Episode 217 focuses on two new watches that Jason and James are excited about – the new 60th anniversary Bond Seamaster, and a brand new and rather affordable GMT from Mido and Hodinkee. You can likely guess who is most pumped for each watch. From the start, Jason has been fostering a cat and James is fresh back from a weekend of fun in Los Angeles. Stay in the mix for a Final Notes that will have you diving deep on SEALAB and digging into the history of Lancia in Group B racing and how that legacy informed a new take on the 037.
I've heard mention now a couple of times, once on here and on the latest Hodinkee podcast, that the Omega SMP 300M has 21mm lug width, but I think that might be a mistake. It's listed as 20mm on the Omega website and that was always my understanding as well. You can see it here:
Edit: should have read all these comments first as I see others have mentioned this too. Perhaps the Heritage Diver 300 was the watch in mind, I believe that one does have the 21mm lug width.
Speaking of new Bonds and Gangs of London, I watched a few episodes. Don’t love it (awesome fight scenes but too much mobster gobbledygook), BUT, the guy that plays Elliot (Sope Dirisu) would make for an awesome Bond. He’s young. He’s fit. And man can he throw down! He’s like a leaner, meaner Idris Elba who is now too old to play Bond.
I have the white dial SMP 300m and it has a 20mm lug width (20.1 by my Harbor Freight digital calipers). I don’t understand the conversation about 21mm lug width related to the current models. Is the mesh bracelet somehow smaller than 20mm?
With talk of the 21mm nato I figured I'd cast a vote for either an 18 or 19mm. I realize I may be in a small watch minority within the TGN community its worth throwing out there.
I own a now-discontinued Casio Duro/Marlin MDV-102 "Super Illuminator"(with the LED light) and it has a 21mm lug width. In case you're unaware, Barton makes its Elite Silicone in 21mm and in a variety of colors.
I really love this new Mido GMT. If I hadn't recently bought my Zodiac Super Sea Wolf and had known this was coming, I would have waited and bought this instead.
I'd like a 21mm for my SBGA413
Seems like 21mm is a more and more common size. My new Air-King is 21mm, so I‘ll throw a vote in for that width.

Even this new one as 20mm as listed "between the lugs":

That mido is a beaut

Many of the new Fortis Watches also use 21mm straps (like the F-39 and Marinemaster M-40)

Is anyone else having issues accessing the slack link? It says the link is no longer active for me.
Btw I think the ndc straps are 21mm? And I’ve bought 21mm natos at least from crown and buckle for my 216570 explorer ii.
Strangely I too thought my NTTD Seamaster had 20mm lug widths. I’ve been using my tgn natos and they fit no gap.
Enjoyed the episode.

Guys, Omega states lug width of 20mm for seamaster 300m?
Happy thanksgiving!
Owner of a Seamaster 300 with 21mm lugs. Would easily go in for a Ute grey nato in 21.
Hey, would happily drop the $100 for a Grey Nato 21mm strap! Hydroconquest owner here. Happy thanksgiving.
Thank you and Happy Thansgiving! If we renew our yearlt subscription, do we get another Nato?
