The TGN boys are back from winter break and they are kicking off the new year with an introspective chat about their goals, dreams, and aspirations for the new year and for another year or TGN. It’s been a weird few years for much of the world and Jason and James wanted to catch up from the break and talk about what they each want from the year ahead. It may not be packed full of watches (don’t worry, we’ve got extra in next week’s episode) but it’s an intentional start to what we all hope will be a big year for the whole crew.
From the get-go, James is re-addicted to a certain video game and Jason has just finished season 2 of Slow Horses. Stay in the mix for a Final Notes that will have you moving social media to the browser and spending three years in the woods building something remarkable.

This was a really interesting episode. I'm glad to hear that you're reassessing, James. A few times during the year it seemed like you were everywhere with TGN, Hodinkee, Hodinkee Radio, other podcasts etc and I could only imagine that you were getting smashed by it all.
To Jason's point about smaller communities rather than social media, I think that's a trend that has been picking up speed. People seem to be moving into Whatsapp/signal groups, discord etc. The TGN slack is the fantastic - it's definitely a lot like what the internet was Back In The Day: a small bunch of people gathered together by a topic who slowly develop relationships. It's really neat. On the one hand I want it to keep growing to suppoet you guys, but on the other I hope it never gets so big that it starts to lose the magic.
As an aside, I've also been wearing my recently acquired Ti Diver One almost exclusively over the break. Such a killer watch.
Belated happy new year wishes to the TGN community!
