It’s the return of the brand focus episode! For #199 the TGN boys are talking all about Citizen. From the brand’s early days, to Jason and James’ history with specific models and a look at several picks from their current lineup – if you said we don’t chat enough about Citizen on TGN, this one’s for you. We’ve got divers, pilots, Promasters, and even Star Wars-themed models as we look at both North American and global offerings (because Citizen is a huge brand and our home countries don’t get all of the good stuff).
From the get-go, James is buying watches at garage sales and Jason has announced the title and cover for the next book in the Tusker series, Sweetwater. Stay in the mix for a Final Notes that’ll have you blasting up a special driveway in England and traversing Australia by both skis and bike.
If we missed a Citizen you love, or you have anything else to say about the episodes, let us know in the comments. Thanks for listening and we hope to see you in Chicago for the Wind Up Watch Fair.

“I think it's easier than ever to hear only what you want to hear. That doesn't make a good citizen.” - Eli Pariser
The 8110 chronograph flybacks are super cool - I have one with blue dial, orange hands.
Doesn’t have the history of the Seiko 6138 pandas, but it is slimmer because the 8110 is a smaller movement. Came out 4 yrs after the 6138. Case is 38m wide.
Also much cheaper - can pick them up for 500 A$. Pretty good for a vintage automatic chronograph
Possibly sacrilege, but did anyone see that the Promaster Diver is on sale for Amazon Prime Day (ending today)? $155 USD
