With Jason officially back stateside and fighting the good fight against jetlag, we thought it would be fun to chat about a handful of recent watch releases that are too good to ignore. With brand new launches from Doxa, Bremont, Hamilton, Timex, and Aquastar, April was a great month for new watches.
From the top, Jason is in full binge mode while getting back into the flow at home and James is digging through his watch box to wear some stuff that hasn’t seen a wrist in some time. Stay in the mix for a Final Notes with an awesome story about cycling the hard way (on purpose) and yet another entry in the long line of cheap bracelets that have found favor with James.

Go for the Spitfire or MGB—more fun than you can have for less than the price of many watches. Everything feels fast in a small slow roadster and doing the maintenance can be part of the charm.
That Doxa Army Watches of Switzerland Edition, as well as Doxa's carbon model, are both spectacularly intriguing pieces. But I just can't get over the prices. The Doxa ceramic is barely cheaper than the Tudor BB Ceramic. TGN has mentioned the Victorinox carbon, which is just $1225, compared with the Doxa carbon's $4790 msrp. Christopher Ward sells a carbon diver for $1275. I know these LEs from smaller brands don't get the economies of scale, but I can't help but wonder if they're taking advantage of some hype to squeeze out some short-term profit. Yes, I totally want them to take the profit they can earn. But I really, really long for the day when Christopher Ward, Raven, Nodus, Oak & Oscar, or some other innovative small brand comes out with a $1500 ceramic diver and turns this material into something a bit more mainstream.
