With Jason’s month in Sri Lanka coming to a close, we figured that we could end April with an in-depth chat about his experiences over the past month or so.
Another great episode, and a fantastic audio companion piece to the weekly Swimpruf reports. Jason, curious what your thoughts are on the CWC Royal Navy Auto, as compared to the quartz version. As someone with extensive experience with both, is there anything that would make you choose one over the other?
YouTube channels like My Self Reliance are a good way to feel all at once inadequate and empowered. There's meditation in watching someone build their own world.
Kate & I have been 3 times to the island since our first trip in 1983 and it has so many happy memories, although we're well aware of its tragic side as well.
Talking of 'roaches, I well remember a night in the Taprobane Hotel in Columbo in maybe 1985 when, on stepping to the floor from the bed for a shower early in the morning, there was a rustling 'whoosh' and the carpet suddenly switched from dark grey back to patterned red and black...
"Panerai sized cockroach" good lord, what a frightening idea! Jason, be warned that it is still nearly winter here in Minneapolis. Hoping you land on a warmer day, but it has been frigid here all April.
I loved the Time & Tide Seiko story! Very cool, and great watch. Yes, I put on my SKX after inspiration.

Thanks with the sharing the travel adventures!
Also, best description phrase to date unique for this audience, "A Panerai sized cockroach." 😂
Great episode as always guys. Sri Lanka sounds a LOT like my home of New Orleans. Safe travels home Jason!
