This week, the TGN boys are back with details about the TGN Auction for Ukraine (it’s live now – link below!), more random Seiko purchases, and the latest brand new releases from Bremont for their 2022 Townhouse event.
With the interest of the discovery of the endurance I am in the middle of reading Madhouse at the End of the Earth: The Belgica’s Journey into the Dark Antarctic Night which is about the Belgium 1897 antarctic expedition on the Belgica getting stuck in the ice which is also featured a young Roald Amundsen among its crew
Listening to what was going into that auction sounded amazing. As the items continued getting listed I realized there was no way I'd be able to afford it! haha Very cool. Hopefully it goes well.
The topic of bronze watches came up. I had been really curious and recently decided to pick up the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze (hate how long that name is), and I absolutely love it. I've put it on other NATOs but it honestly looks incredible on the OEM leather NATO. We will see how I feel about it once it starts to develop patina, but so far I love it.
great episode as always. I am watching F1 on F1-TV its a subscription they use the Sky TV presenter team which is always fun and they have alot of extra features too.
Just curious if this only effects me or if the TGN Supporter feed should be this way, but there is no option for auto-downloading the episode inside Google Podcasts app as there is for other podcast feeds including the standard TGN public feed. Any thoughts?
Beau Miles is great. His perspective on outdoor recreation is so refreshing, and is an inspiration to get out and into the small, accessible, wild(ish) corridors of the world that are often overlooked due to their proximity to mankind. His experiences help show us how much learning and 'exploring' we can do if we're willing to get a little unconventional.
I've enjoyed all his videos on youtube, and have to recommend Run the Line, Junk Paddle, Junk Wine and The Commute.
Glad I'm not the only one who took advantage of Ripley's Aquarium to feel like my dive watch was getting some use, James! Christened my Christopher Ward by submerging it in a tank to pet one of the small sharks.
Hi Steven. You can keep track of current bids using the Instagram link, and if you'd like to participate in the bidding, we're happy to take yours via here, or an email to thegreynato@gmail.com. We'll be sure to add it into the comments on IG so people know what it is.

Not related to anything in the show, but I came across this story and it seems particularly suited for the TGN listener:

The auction quickly went above my financial level, but 100% support for the project!! Good on you guys for putting this together.
Enjoy your week “off”, we’ll be here waiting to hear all the latest news!
Good shout out to the Canadian Warplane museum. I have been a couple of times and always enjoyed it.
Yet another great TGN episode.

Another excellent episode! Loved the Bremont coverage. I’m thinking a Jet S502 might be a future purchase.

I had the same issue using Google Podcasts. Couldn't find a solution I'm afraid Must be an issue with how they treat private feeds.
Thank you for the feedback. At least we're not the only ones. Something must be unique with Google Podcasts.
Any guesses on James’ new Seiko?
Gold-tone Seiko 5. SNXS80 perhaps.
SPB155? I know I've been considering it, but he indicated it didn't have much water resistance and even 155 is 200M.

I am not on IG. Is there another way to participate in the auction?

Thanks Jason but it looks like I need an account to even see highest bids. No worries and good luck with the auction.
yeah unfortunately Instagram has become more and more locked down - if you don't have an account it's pretty much useless
99.99% of the time I am okay with that as I have been off SM for 4 years.
