Agree with James on No Time to Die. Was left feeling pretty hollow after watching it and felt they gave away more than is needed with the character. Can understand the need to deepen the character but don’t want the Bond character to have the same issues in life as the rest of us….Will be interesting to see where the franchise goes after this. Agree a Bond episode would be awesome.
Jason whatever you do don’t use that film underwater! It’s meant for the exact opposite color temperature. You would need two, full, CTorange correction filters on it to make it look anything like normal.
Love this episode! Great interview. The guys from Bremont seem like such great guys. I have always been intrigued by Bremont watches, and have never understood the hate that they get from a section of the watch community (lots of Hodinkee commenters seem to have a real problem with Bremont). Their build quality and attention to detail seem to be at a really high level. I definitely would love to pick one up one of these days.
I like Bremont, though from a distance - I don't think I'm likely to own one but I do like that they exist. Despite some of the marketing speak, I was pleased to hear about their progress with this movement. Then I read Robin's Hodinkee article on the ENG300 and came away with a very different impression of just how much they're actually manufacturing.
To be clear, I generally think Bremont are held to a higher standard most Swiss companies, and it's great that they're pushing forward. I did feel like they were pulling the wool over our eyes a bit in this interview, though.
Not a big fan of No Time to Die. I went in with no expectations - hoping for a fun trip back to the theatre after 18 months - but the movie fell flat. A march to its inevitable conclusion, jamming in every last thread so by the time it finished, all were wrapped up with a bow.
The franchise needs a proper reset. Reduce the scope. Develop a proper villain. Chill with the ever-increasing product placement. Ground the series in reality. Casino Royale was great because it felt reasonably authentic. The subsequent films forgot about that.

Yasss! I’d love a special No Time To Die episode with Jason and James going head-to-head on the merits and weaknesses of the movie (potentially with the Other Stacey as tie breaker). Or move it to Single Serving Cinema, with Jason and James as guest stars. And yes, also bring in special episodes on Bond books, themes, the character, whatever; that would be tons of fun as well…
I think an episode focusing on No Time to Die would be great. I enjoyed the film but also thought it too long. I like Remi Malick but felt he was overacting. What struck me is that the Bond Omega was just one of many watches featured in the movie; it seemed like most of the main characters were wearing interesting watches. Including those other watches in the episode would be fun.

Too late. :)

What happened around 47min? Was that editing issues or zoom difficulties?
