Both of the TGN boys have plenty to chat about this week as James is back from vacation and Jason has returned unscathed from an off-roading adventure!
A stand-alone Bond episode would be fantastic. Looking forward to hearing both of your takes on what is quite a divisive movie. A spoiler warning would allow people to listen back once it's safe
I love the idea of a review of NTTD episode from you guys! I would imagine that with plenty of heads up about spoilers, it would be safe. I agree with Jason's ranking. I love Casino Royale so much, but they did an incredible job with NTTD.
I feel like suggesting Venture4wd a year ago opened a proper can of worms! I can just see you two with roof tents out in the wild on a TGN expedition, podcast by the fire anyone?
Another great episode! Jason, it would be interesting to know why you chose the white dial Omega over what seems to be your traditional black dial dive watches. James, where do you land on white dial divers?
I’m also down for NTTD episode but instead of a review take a Single Serving Cinema approach. Take a fav scene (or two) & do a deep dive. There’s already so many review/summaries, that it would be nice to have nuanced look at it. Just a thought
Voting for a Bond special. Not just for the watch talk but also to recognize the franchise's cultural contribution. Not to mention Bond himself is the epitome of a Grey NATO listener... man on a mission with impeccable taste for gear, diving, driving, and watches? No brainer!
Cool! That Jack London quote is my forums signature. It's spoken to me since I was a teen. The larger passage is equally motivating...
"I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."
I've had my Omega Speedmaster on the factory bracelet for exactly 20 years, the entire time I've had it. It's my "nice" watch so I like to keep it on bracelet, all of my dive watches are on straps of some kind.
But I'm thinking of putting the Speedmaster on a strap. What would you recommend?
Loved hearing about the rock crawling class. As a 'person of a certain age', I was more than a little stunned hearing that only Jason's and the instructor had manual transmissions.
My vote is for a Bond Special with all the spoilers.
TGN Bond special, yes please! Great episode as always.
All for it!! Incredible end for Craig.
Thanks for another great episode.

Im hoping to see it on Sunday evening so we may be able to have a Bond episode for #167. Will do my best.

That was a fun chat. Gishani's video is here if anyone's looking for it: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CUl2ILdAivC/
On the future NTTD discussion, personally I'd prefer you to skip it - and any other new releases. But of course I'll be quite fine either way :)

I love white dial watches (divers included!)
I chose white because aesthetically I prefer it to the other variations of the Seamaster.

I'd be up for a TGN Offroad event! Could pair it along with a midwest meet up once things get back to normal.
Another vote for a Bond special!
I'd be happy to drive the 4Runner out from Jersey for a TGN weekend. But which watch to bring....
Yes, I'm in for a northern Minnesota TGN get-together and off-road driving event! Especially because it is only a 63 mile commute. Good times guys.
