This week we have an extra special episode as Jason is on vacation and James needed a guest host to keep up with the weekly episode schedule. Who did we call? None other than our good pal Cole Pennington. An editor extraordinaire at Hodinkee – not to mention a diver, driver, fisherman, historian, and more – Cole was a highlight of the Isolation Tapes series (check out his original appearance in Ep. 107, linked below) and the TGN boys thought he would make a fantastic choice as a guest host for this adventurous and far-flung episode.
Cole comes to the show with plenty of adventures and watch stories stemming from a pandemic season spent following his many passions. From fishing in Thailand to interviewing SR-71 pilots and diving in Utah’s saltwater lagoons, Cole is a man with many things to do.
Be sure to stay in the mix for a ton of great stories, plenty of watches and cars, and a solid set of Final Notes. Have a question for Cole? Drop it in the comments and be sure to give him a follow on Instagram at the link below. For now, just press play, and thanks so much for listening.

First off, thanks, Cole, for sitting in for me. This was an amazing episode that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to, "as a civilian" for a change. Such a breadth of topics covered, exciting and adventuresome. Bravo, guys!
Great show as always!
1. You have to appreciate the reliability of a Toyota in place of the coolness factor of a Wrangler or older truck? I'd still be driving my 1st Gen 4Runner if it had airbags (1989, 3L, manual). Drove it for 15 years and the oil still looked like apple juice after 3000 miles on the 230K engine. Had to upgrade to the modern 5th generation 4R for the safety. Ask your local trauma surgeon how her life has changed in the last 20 years with the addition of airbags? I know... boring... but I'd like to keep hearing all of your adventure stories for the next 50 years.
2. The coolest BMX bike that came to mind was the PK Ripper. (Perry Kramer)
