Film Club is back! With Jason hanging out in Sri Lanka for April, the boys pre-recorded the 7th installment of Film Club back in March so there’s less chit chat than normal (and no local weather reports) but Jason and James have with ten fresh picks for the growing Film Club library.
From classic 90s political thrillers to serial killers, amnesia, truffle pigs, reefs, and some high-end safe cracking, this volume of the Film Club offers plenty of variety in movies both old and new. We hope you love it.
Thanks so much for listening, don’t forget to hit the comments to let us know what you thought of this round of picks and what movies you’d like to see added to the Film Club collection.

“We live in a box of space and time. Movies are windows in its walls. They allow us to enter other minds, not simply in the sense of identifying with the characters… but by seeing the world as another person sees it.” - Roger Ebert
James, you mentioned wanting to make a list of all of the films you and Jason have covered so far. I just made a list on Letterboxd of every movie featured on the podcast. Check it out here: https://boxd.it/gfnsM
You don't need an account to view the list, so everyone can look at it. But Letterboxd is a fantastic app/website for movie lovers. Great for keeping track of movies you've seen and want to see, leaving ratings, cataloguing movies you own (like Discogs), etc. For example I have seen 43 out of the 70 films featured on the Film Club. Looks like I have my work cut out for me!
Gents,
Another great episode. And a bit of time travel since we now know more about your March and April than you did when you taped the episode.
You introduced me to movies I had never heard of except for Clear and Present Danger. BTW, that movie has the most terrifyingly realistic Suburban ambush scene. It is the sort of thing that will give foreign service mavens nightmares.
Try Copenhagen as a mind bender. I won’t say anything more.
In the spy genre, try the BBC 6 part series called “The Game.” A counterintelligence wilderness of mirrors.
Cheers,
JR
