The Grey NATO – 381 – Exploring With Rolex, Nat Geo, Bertie Gregory, & Thomas Peschak
This week, the main segment of the show features a pair of special chats that Jason recorded while with Rolex and Nat Geo in Washington, D.C, last week. Alongside a report from his trip, Jason recorded separate interviews with both Bertie Gregory and Thomas Peschak.
Bertie Gregory (below, left) is a British wildlife filmmaker, environmentalist, and National Geographic Explorer who has hosted and produced over a dozen television projects, including the Disney+ series Animals Up Close. In 2020, he became BAFTA’s youngest cinematography winner and was named the 2025 Rolex National Geographic Explorer of the Year alongside Pablo García Borboroglu.
Thomas Peschak (above, right) is a National Geographic Explorer and photographer who specializes in documenting the world’s oceans and wild places, having produced 21 feature stories for the magazine and earned 18 Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards and seven World Press Photo Awards. Trained originally as a marine biologist, he turned to photography after concluding that images could drive greater conservation impact than scientific data, and recently completed a 396-day expedition documenting the entire Amazon River Basin.
A huge thanks to both Bertie and Thomas for being on the show. Stay tuned for a Final Notes that has James blowing air and Jason turning to an unlikely celebrity for a bit of birding inspiration.
